Mgr. art. Jana Gubková Černá, ArtD.

Mgr.art Jana Gubková Černá, ArtD. is the leader of the 2nd violin in the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. Already during her studies she participated in a number of violin competitions. In 1998 she became a member of prestigious Gustav Mahler´s Youth Orchestra where she had the unique opportunity to work under supervision of world-famous conductors. In 2000 she became a laureate of The National Violin Competition for the Karol Dobias Prize.

As a solo player, she repeatedly performed with all prominent Slovak orchestras - such as Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Zilina State Chamber Orchestra, Kosice State Philharmonic Orchestra and Capella Istropolitana. As a chamber musician as well as solo violinist she performed in Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Turkey, Luxemburg, USA and Cyprus.

Jana Cerna-Illesova is a graduate of the Bratislava Conservatory, the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (Associate Professor Jablokov), and Music University in Vienna (Professor Kuchl). She completed her studies with a number of master courses under the leadership of first-rate performers.

In 2009 she successfully finished her post-graduate studies at the Academy of Performing Arts (ArtD). Currently, her activities are focused on solo and chamber music performances as well as on teaching at the Bratislava Conservatory.
