VÝZNAMNÉ OCENENIA

Ľubica Čekovská sa narodila v roku 1975 v Humennom. V roku 1998 absolvovala s vyznamenaním Vysokú školu múzických umení v odbore teória hudby. Počas štúdia na vysokej škole študovala aj kompozíciu u profesora Dušana Martinčeka. V štúdiu pokračovala v postgraduálnom štúdiu kompozície na Royal Academy of Music (RAM) v Londýne u profesora Paula Pattersona.

K cenám a oceneniam patria Cuthbert Nunn Composition Prize of the Royal Academy of Music (1998) za skladbu Fragment a elégia pre sólo bajan, Lewerhulme Award (1999) Elsie Owen Prize (1999) od Royal Academy of Music a Štipendium ISH od jej veličenstva kráľovnej Alžbety, kráľovnej matky (1998-2000). V roku 2006 je  Hudobný fond udelil Cenu Jána Levoslava Bellu za dielo Piano Concerto. Nedávno bola ocenená cenou Nadácie Tatrabanky 2013 za dielo Štyri časti pre klavír, alebo cena SOZA 2011-2012 za medzinárodné predvenie slovenských skladieb. Tiež je autorkou scénickej hudby pre rôzne slovenské ačeské divadlá, ako aj filmovej hudby. Jej kompozície boli vydané na niekoľkých CD nosičoch na slovensku vrátane jej profilového CD „Passing Impresions“ (Hevhetia. V rokoch 2008 – 2018 bola členkou umeleckej rady hudobného prestížneho festivalu Pražská Jar.

V augute 2020 mala na festivale v Bregenzi premiéru jej druhá opera – buffa „Impresario Dotcom“

Za operu „Impresario Dotcom“, dostala v roku 2020 cenu Krištálové krídlo

6. júla 2021 dostala cenu ministerky kultúry za rok 2020.
